·       Open PB/44, look at the end of the reading, where dopes this reading come from? Aramoco world magazine.

·       Introduce: Þ  adapt: to change something.

·       Look at the pics., read the captions there.

·       Ask: How many parts are there in the reading? 4 (4 Q's),  read aloud those Q's.

·       Look at part the 3rd part, Ask S to find out the names of the countries (they begin with capital letters) that receives Arab Aid & the line #'s.

·       Hang up the poster,  try to point to the previous countries. Show S the cards of the new countries.

·       S read all the words written in capital letters, say: These are the things that have been built with Arab Aid

·       Introduce Þ: railway: a transportation system using trains.

 

 

 

·       Write these Q's on the board: S take (5m) to read the passage silently to find out the answers and their line #'s and underline the unknown words..

 

Which Gulf countries give Arab Aid? L: 14,20-21, S.A., K, O, Q and U.A.E

Which four countries have received aid to improve water supply? L: 49-51 Egypt, Syria, Yemen and Jordan

Find two reasons why Arab Aid is given? L: 55-57, to make friends; as a religious duty.

 

 

 

·       S how S the cards of the new voc, S read them and find their line #,s in the passage. Those words are:

  1.  Þ beneath: L: 2, like underneath or under, with the same meaning.

  2.  Þ loan: L: 17, a gift is given forever; a loan is a lent for a period of time, and must be given back.

  3.  Þ repay: L: 19, pay back. loans must be repaid.

  4.  Þ non-Arab , non-Muslim: L: 22-23, the opposites of Arab and Muslim.

  5.  Þ friendship: L: 31, a friend is a person but a friendship is the connection between two friends.

  6.  Þ construct: L: 45,  = build as a technical word

  7.  Þ pipe: L: 38, the (v) from (n) pipe

  8.  Þ religious: L: 56, the (adj) from religion

  9.  Þ zakat, alms: they are the same : the Islamic religious duty to give a percentage of one's wealthy to certain group of people.

 

·       Open WB/30, write the answers to the ex. on P/32.
