   ·   S look at the poster and elicit ideas:

   ·   Pic 1: Two boys are talking ; one is Saudi the other is a foreigner. The Saudi boy looks a bit sleepy ® a little tired

   ·   pic 2: This is from a calendar. It shows the Holy month of Ramadan. What do we do in Ramadan? fast. S read aloud the sentence under the calendar, introduce dark: the (n) from the (adj) dark.

   ·   Pic 3: The children are playing games and receiving gifts. Ask: What time of the year do you think this is? Eid Al-Fitr.

 

 

 

 

   ·   Write these Q's on the board :

 

Why does Ahmad look a bit sleepy? Because he was awake most of last night.

What happens after dark in Ramadan? Muslims eat and drink.

What does fasting help Muslims remember? It helps them remember their obedience to Allah.

 

   ·   S read aloud the Q's, play the cassette, elicit the answers.

   ·   Play the cassette again up to these words:

   ·   Þ obedience:  (n) to obey: is to do what someone has told you to do.

   ·   Þ celebration: (n) party for a special reason.

 

 

 

 

   ·   Open PB/25, look at the Q's at A, S answer them:

   ·   Look at B, S read the ins's., play the cassette and try to get the 3 Q's.

   ·   play it and S repeat the 3 Q's.

   ·   Look at C, read aloud the Q's. Elicit as many as ideas as possible in English about Ramadan.
