F. (05m)

   ·   Give S the readers and ask them to write their names and class on the front cover.

   ·   Collect the workbooks.

   ·   Open the readers (R) /P 2, look at the pic and the title.

   ·   Look at P/3, read the question at A, read aloud the 1st sentence and ask: What is another word for passage? reading.

   ·   What should do first, read the passage or look at it? look at it, say, O.K., let's look....ask: On what page does the passage begin? 9

   ·   Look at the top of page 9, you can see the title of the passage and it tells you what the passage about, ask: What is the passage about? fires.

   ·   Say: All these passages (9, 10, 11and12) are about fires, S turn to see them.

   ·   Say: Before we read a passage for the first time, we find the beginning and the end of the passage..

   ·   How many lines are there in the passage? about 101. How many pages are there in the passage? 4.

Look at page 3S read aloud Q's 1 and 2. S try to find the 3 main sections in the passage in order to answer Q 3:

   ·   Turn to page 9, say: The first section on page 9 is an introduction. Say:

An introduction is the first part of a passage.

   ·   Turn to P/3 A s read Q4, S look at the 2 titles: 1. Here are some of..... 2. Smoke detector ......

   ·   Put the R up side down, ask Q's: *What is the passage about? fires, accidental fires. *Why accidental fires happen? matches, lighters, smoking, electrical appliances, outlets, gas cylinders.

   ·   Look at the pic's, what are they tell you about? 1. That there is fire. 2.A pic of a family who are talking and thinking. 3. A pic of a family going quickly out of the house. 4. A pic of a boy in a bedroom. The house is on a fire. He is shouting, perhaps Fire ! or Help !. 5. A pic of a man outside phoning the emergency services.

   ·   Say: There are 2 sections in this passage: 1. The introduction. 2. How to prevent fires.

   ·   S read Q B/P 4 , and the 2 parag aloud, look at the title Smoke ... look at the pic's: the 1st pic :What is this pic of? A smoke detector: an instrument that tells you when there is a fire. The 2nd: What is the family doing? talking, What are they doing in the last pic? leaving the house. Why are they leaving the house? Is there a fire? No, They are practising. Describe a fire drill. ..

   ·   Read the 2 Q at the bottom of page 4 silently, then S answer.

   ·   Turn p/5 read aloud the 2 paragraph

   ·   Turn p/10 read the subheadings there, then turn to p/5 and fill in the spaces there.

   ·   Look at P/6 I'll read the Q and the passage but S complete

   ·   Look at P/7, read the Q and the ins's, S read those words and the others around them to guess the meaning, The 3 Q's will be homework. P/7/D

   ·   Look at E read the ins's, ask S to find words like those 3 words in the box, answer the Q below

Complete the exercise on reader page 5 and P/7/D.
