OBJECTIVES:

  A.  Introduce the topic of safety in the home and voc through a poster.

  B.  Practise listening and introduce more voc.

  C.  Discuss the topic and revise the voc.

   ·   Hold the poster ... Write Safety in the Home  .....Say: Safety is the (n) of safe ...

   ·   Pic #1 ... ask: What can you see in this pic? A reporter is interviewing someone.

   ·   pic #2 ... What is this child doing? Playing with a bag.  .... What is this bag made of? It is a plastic bag.

   ·   Pic #3, 4 and 5 ... Ask: What can you see?

   ·   Pic #3: An old man is sitting at a table. He is looking at some medicines.

   ·   Pic #4: A child is playing with a cooker.

   ·   Pic #4: A man is repairing a TV.

 

 

   ·   Say: Listen to the conversation and try to find the answers for these questions:

  1.  What is the man’s name?

  2.  What does he do?

  3.  What is his real job?

   ·   Open PB/p11 A s read the title...... I read the instructions... I introduce these words: First aid: Quick help that people give to a sick person before the doctor comes. Instructor: Someone who teaches or trains: A driving instructor..... A first aid instructor..... A swimming instructor.

   ·   S read the 6 questions there, Introduce these words:

  a)  Common: Something is done by everyone in a group. The English and Australians have a common language.

  b)  Burn: mark that fire makes. mime it.

  c)  Scald: To burn with or as if with hot liquid

  d)  Electrocution: To kill with electricity

  e)  Suffocation, suffocate: To stop someone from breathing.

   f)   Poisoning, poison: Thing that will kill you or make you very ill if you eat or drink it.

   ·   Ask S to answer those q`s after listening to the conversation, play it....S answer:

  1.  He teaches you to help people when they have accidents.

  2.  teacher

  3.  It is a basic treatment to help the person until the doctor arrives.

  4.  An ambulance driver.

  5.  burns, scalds, electrocution, suffocation and poisoning.

  6.  Look at the previous step.

   ·   Look at section B/PB/p11, I will read the questions there. The answers will be:

  1. (C).......2. (D)........3. (A)..........4. (B).

 

 

 

   ·   Show S the cards of The new voc. ask them to pronounce those words.

   ·   Look at section C/PB/11, S read the question there, I will accept any suggestions which are reasonable.
