·       Open PB/P54, read the sentence there, write on the board:

 

                                         comparing 2 things                                          comparing more than 2 things

 

      new                                     newer than                                                         the newest

comfortable                     more comfortable than                                      the most comfortable

 

 

                                                         1- short adj.’s (with few letters) usually end in er and est

·       Say: When we compare things{

                                                         2- long adj’s (with a lot of letters) usually have more and the most

 

·       When we compare 3 or more things, we use the superlative form of the adjective.

·       Read box 2, say: This sentence is in the present tense because it happen every..... and we use the present simple tense with things that will happen esp. if there is a timetable or a plan or an arrangement.

·       Open WB/P39/ex,B, practise the previous step.

·       Look at ex, A, read the ins’s, say we should use the superlative adj.’s because we have lots of houses there, S complete the answer.

 

 

·       Turn WB/P40, ex, C, read the ins’s, say the following:

 

Þ    I think so = the speaker is not 100% sure but more than 50% sure.

Þ     I hope so = I would like that

 

·       Say:                               

                                               The verb after hope is

                               often in the present simple

                               with future meaning, e.g.,

                                                         I hope he comes.

·       Look at PB/P50, read the 1st two sentences there

   a=  we say a here because he was one of many

the=  we say the here because the building was the only one there.

·       Read lines 14-19 (practise a and the) there.

·       Practise a/the with the all lines in the passage.

·       Look at PB/P55, read that box.
