   ·   Hang the poster, ask the following Q's:

  Þ  Who can you see in these pic's? Yasser and Sa'ad.

  Þ  Where are they? in a shop

  Þ  What kind of shop is it? It's a money exchanger’s

  Þ  What are they buying? money =  as the same as currency

 Þ Where else can you buy currency? A bank

 Þ Why are they buying currency? Because they are going (to go abroad) on a trip to Sudan  = journey

 Þ What kind of currency can you buy at the money exchanger's or a bank? dollars and pounds

   ·   You can buy cash ( show them the money) or you can buy traveller's cheques = a special piece of paper that you write on it , telling a bank to pay money to someone (translate it)

 

 

 

   ·   Play the cassette, point to appropriate pic's on the poster. Ask: How many currencies do they talk about?

    3: Sudanese pounds, dollars, and riyals. Play the cassette again, S answer the Q's, play it again , S's  

     repeat sentences.

 

 

 

 

   ·   Open PB/P 39, S read silently , then play the cassette, elicit the new voc:

   à   change: We change money from one currency into another e.g.,  from riyals into dollars

   à   had better: = should, write on the board the long form and the short one:

          

      

                 had better           ‘d better

 

 

   à   point: use a card, show them that the #’s after the point are said singly. S practise the whole new voc.
