   ·   Hang the poster, say: This is a cave. Do we live in caves now? No, Did people live in caves many years ago? Yes, What do we call people who live in caves? cavemen, What did cavemen do there? They sheltered from the bad weather. Why did they live there? They protected themselves from wild animals. Point to the fire and say: They could light fires.

   ·   Introduce the new voc:

Shelter: When it rains heavily, we don't want to be wet and cold, where do you shelter from the weather.

Protect: If you are in the desert, you must protect yourself from the sun. You wear a ghotra. This protect your head.

   ·   Point to the grass. Did they cover the floor? Demonstrate it.

   ·   Point to the cave walls. Did they draw (make pic's) on the walls? Yes, they drew on the walls.

   ·   Ask some Q's:

What is this? a cave. Who lived there? cavemen. Where did they shelter in bad weather? in the caves. What could they do with fires in the caves? They could light fires. What kind of animals are these? wild animals. What did they cover the floor with? leaves and grass. What did they do on the walls of the caves? drew pic's of animals.

   ·   Play the cassette ask: Were caves natural or man-made places? Natural, play it again in sections

   ·   The new voc will be the following:

  Þ  climate: the climate of  S.A is warm but England has a cold climate.

  Þ  natural: Did cavemen build their caves? no, so they were natural. People did not make them (translate)

  Þ  man-made: Point to the poster at the room, Is it natural? no, Did people make it? Yes, so they are man-made.                Say:........  [man-made X natural  ...... They are opposites.]

  Þ  dangers: use a pic.

  Þ  furniture: There are some things in the room that are not in the cave.

  Þ  decorate: Why did cavemen draw on the walls? To decorate them. So you decorate a place (with flowers, pics or lights) in order to make it more beautiful

Open PB/P31, I'll read, S repeat, S find out the answers with new voc in. Show S the cards of the new words, S spell and read them.
