   ·   Open PB/P 24, S read the title, What is it about? About school in the U.S.A? What is another name for the U.S.A? America.

   ·   Point to the 1st pic, Ask: What is happening? S say: They are leaving school. Say: Yes, they graduate at 18.

   ·   Point to the 2nd pic, What can you see here? S say: sport, say: that’s right. It is P.E. Say P.E. is the name for lessons in sport and health. P.E.= Physical Education.

   ·   Point to the 3rd pic: What is he holding? a certificate or a diploma.

   ·   S ask Q's to know about school in the U.S.A:

   1.   What kinds of schools do children attend in the U‎.S.A?

   2.   What subjects do children take in the U.S.A?

   3.   Do American children take exams when they leave school?

   ·   S read the 1st sentence only in every paragraph.

   ·   Introduce: In general.( by using usually)

 

 

 

 

 

   ·   Write the previous 3Q's on the board, the answers are:

   ·   1. elementary school, junior high school and high school

   ·   2. English, mathematics, a foreign language, history, geography, the sciences and P.E.

   ·   3. No, they don't.

   ·   S read the PB/P24 to find out the previous answers.

   ·   Write the kinds of schools in U.S.A and the ones in S.A on the board.

 

 

 

 

   ·   Show them some cards with the U.S.A schools and the Saudi schools.

   ·   S look at some lines in the passage, I'll ask some Q's:

   ·   Line 12: What is Spanish? A foreign language - comes from Spain.

   ·   Line 13 : What are physics, chemistry and biology? S guess what they are in Arabic.

   ·   Line 16: Can you name any courses? read line 16 and 19 to know its meaning. S answer.

   ·   Line 22: How many American high school students go on to university? about 50 percent, show them a card of % in English and Arabic.
