   ·   Hang the poster, say: listen to the cassette to find the answer of these Q's: 1. What subjects must all British Children study up to the age of 16? English and math’s. What do they get when they leave school? a school leaving certificate

   ·   Play the cassette. point to each pic on the poster.

   ·   Play it again to stop at some sentences for some pic's.

  Þ  Pic1: Where are these pupils? in Britain. How old are they? 11 to 14. How many years is that? 3 years. How many subjects do they study? All subjects or take all subjects " take means study"

  Þ  Pic2 : What happens when they are 14 in England? They choose science or arts subjects. Art subjects like Arabic, English, geography and history.

  Þ  Pic3: What happens between ages 16 and 18? They can specialize in 2 or 3 subjects.

  Þ  Pic4: Where is this? S.A. How old are these boys? between 12 to 18. How many subjects do they take? all subjects. Do Saudi children study more or fewer subjects? more subjects.

  Þ  Pic5 :Where is this? Britain. How old is the boy on the left? 18. On the right? 16. What are they holding? certificates. Why do they have certificates? Because they passed the last exams and they are leaving school.

   ·   Play the cassette again and ask this Q to introduce the word 'important': Where do you have important exam? At the end intermediate and secondary school . Translate it if necessary.

   ·   Open PB/P21, S read the con.

 

 

 

   ·   Write on the board:

At 17, Saudi school children have to study more subjects than British school children.

   ·   Write more subjects than ///// and more pens than /////.

   ·   Say What about time can you count time? Say we can count days, hours and minutes but we cannot count time, write more time than         .

   ·   S read PB/P 22 1C and 1D .

   ·   Write fewer schools than  /////////                                         less time than                   

   ·   Look at PB/P 29, S read aloud sentences 1A/  1B.
