· Hang up poster 5, Point to each pic and ask: Þ Pic1: Who is this? Ahmad Al-Ali. Þ Pic2: What is he doing? interviewing someone/ a boy. Þ Pic3: What is he interviewing him about? School in Britain and school in S.A. Introduce’ compare', say: He is comparing school in Britain with school in S.A. Are they the same or different? Þ Pic4: How old are children when they start school in Britain? 5 years. How does this compare with S.A? We start late. How old are they when they finish? 16 or 18 years old. Must they go to school? Yes. Introduce 'compulsory'. So they must go to school. Is school compulsory in S.A? Yes, it is. Þ Pic5/6: How many school do they go to? 2. How does this compare with S.A? We go to more schools. What are the 2 kinds? Primary school and secondary school. How old are children in (primary/secondary) school? 5-11& 11-18 Þ Pic 7-10: What do these pic's shoe? The school day. Where? in Britain, When do classes start in the morning? 9 o'clock. Where do pupils have lunch? From 12.00-1.00. When do the boys have classes in the afternoon? 1.30-4.00. What do they do every evening? They study / do their homework. · Play the cassette, Stop at the end of sentences that contain new words, S repeat. · Play it again. Ask about the boy's name, ask some Q's from the previous step. · Read the last sentence then ask who do you think Mr. Al-Ali is talking to when he says viewers: The people who are watching the programme on TV. · Show S the cards of the new voc. S repeat them. · Open PB/P 20 read the con silently. |
